how did you become interested in this career?
I INVESTIGATED EVERY CAREER
I was the first person to go to college for my family. My family couldn't help me figure it out. I started making phone calls and going on hospital tours in case I wanted to do medicine or going to talk to the lawyer's office to see if I wanted a profession in law.
Because of this exploration, I went into freshman year knowing I wanted an international business management degree. I knew it because I knew that I was passionate and in love with my languages.

I am a big picture thinker. Being in this operation space allows me the opportunity to work with what we have today but also look to see what what technology is coming out and what trends are changing in the market.
WHAT SKILLS DOES IT TAKE TO BE SUCCESSFUL AT YOUR JOB?
BIG THINKER, PASSIONATE, NETWORKER
You have to be a big thinker, strategic and very passionate. You have to be able to pivot at a moment's notice without asking too many questions and be very reactionary in operations. It's about building relationships and making sure that you engage and understand what it is that the customer is feeling.

WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU KNEW WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER?
ASK PEOPLE QUESTIONS
I wish I would have known or had the idea to start building relationships and networking. I wish I would have known about making yourself uncomfortable to grow.
The key to success in life is asking questions and building relationships that will make you successful, whether it's with friends or with work. So build those relationships, be true to yourself and and just keep moving forward. Keep networking, keep asking questions.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE
It's heartwarming when I walk through a restaurant with their TV screens up and I see Reuters News. It makes me proud.
WHAT'S THE COOLEST PART OF YOUR JOB?
SEEING MY WORK IN THE WORLD
The coolest part of my job is working with people from all over the world in a high pressure news organization. Everyone cares about delivering true, unbiased news. It's exhilarating to be able to see things that we have reported on pop up everywhere.

International Business Management is about managing across the globe. We are truly doing business in different parts of the world within their cultures. You should know what cultures shake hands and how you should greet them. When you interact with them in the manner that they are accustomed to, that level of respect is huge and will not go unnoticed.

LEARNING DIFFERENT WAYS OF THINKING
When I graduated, I went to work for Deloitte Touche. That job introduced me to different types of thinking and introduced me to different industries. That has been really what has shaped me today. I was fortunate enough that I hit the jackpot in my early twenties.
